If the alleged father is deceased, or unavailable for testing, forensic DNA testing can be considered using items which contain the alleged father’s DNA (e.g. an old toothbrush, electric razor, blood stains, saliva stains, or bone or teeth from an exhumation). For more information, please see our Forensic Paternity Test. Please note, any sample that is not a mouth swab from our collection kit is considered a Forensic Sample and will be subject to a Forensic Fee.
Alternatively, if it is not possible to obtain a forensic sample for the alleged father, testing his direct relatives can be considered utilizing one of our alternative relationship tests (e.g. the DNA Grandparent Test, DNA Aunt/Uncle Test or DNA Sibling Test.)
