This section governs all genetic health-related and ancestry-related testing services provided by SecuriGene (the “Health & Ancestry Testing Services”), whether purchased directly or as an add-on to another service, including DNA Banking Services.
These Health & Ancestry Testing Terms are incorporated into and form part of the SecuriGene Master Terms and Conditions (“Master Terms”). Except as expressly modified herein, the Master Terms apply in full. In the event of any conflict, this section controls solely with respect to Health & Ancestry Testing Services.
Nature of the Services
Health & Ancestry Testing Services involve laboratory analysis of specific genetic markers to generate reports related to health-associated traits, wellness-related indicators, ancestry, heritage, or population comparisons.
The scope of analysis is limited to the markers tested and the methodologies in use at the time of analysis. The Services do not analyze all genetic factors and do not account for non-genetic influences such as environment, lifestyle, medical history, or family history.
Informational Use Only
Health & Ancestry Testing Services and all related reports are provided for informational and educational purposes only.
Health-related results do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, screening, or clinical evaluation, and are not a substitute for professional medical care. Customers should consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding any medical questions or concerns.
Ancestry and heritage results are estimates derived from reference populations, comparative databases, and statistical models. Such results may change over time as databases and analytical methods evolve and do not establish legal identity, ethnicity, lineage, citizenship, tribal affiliation, or familial relationships.
Customers agree not to rely on Health & Ancestry Testing results as the sole or primary basis for medical, legal, forensic, financial, or personal decision-making. SecuriGene makes no representations or guarantees regarding accuracy, completeness, predictive value, or future relevance.
Turnaround Times
Turnaround times vary depending on the specific test(s) selected, sample quality, laboratory workflow, and analytical complexity. Estimated turnaround times, where provided, are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Some Health & Ancestry Testing Services may be completed within several weeks, while others may require longer processing periods. Delays may occur due to sample limitations, technical issues, or quality control requirements.
Sample Quality and Limitations
Successful analysis depends on the quality and quantity of genetic material available. SecuriGene does not guarantee that sufficient data can be generated for every requested test.
Where sample quality is insufficient to complete all requested analyses, SecuriGene may, at its discretion report partial results, exclude certain analyses, or determine that no reliable result can be generated. Fees are charged for the attempt to perform testing, not for guaranteed outcomes.
Interpretation and Use of Results
Any subsequent use of results, including sharing with third parties or requesting additional testing, is undertaken at the Customer’s sole discretion and risk. Additional analyses or applications of results require a separate order and acceptance of the applicable product-specific terms in effect at the time of such request.
SecuriGene does not provide result interpretation services, medical counseling, legal consulting, expert testimony, or court preparation services as part of Health & Ancestry Testing Services.
Authority and Consent
By ordering Health & Ancestry Testing Services, the Customer represents and warrants that they have the legal authority and appropriate consent to submit the sample and receive the results.
SecuriGene relies on these representations and does not independently verify consent, authority, or entitlement to results.
By ordering Health & Ancestry Testing Services, the Customer represents and warrants that they have the full legal right, authority, and capacity to submit the biological sample and to authorize DNA testing.
Where the individual is deceased or a minor, the Customer further represents and warrants that they are the duly authorized estate representative, legal guardian, or otherwise legally entitled decision-maker, and that all required permissions, consents, and authorizations have been properly obtained in accordance with applicable law.
SecuriGene relies entirely on these representations and does not independently verify authority, consent, family relationships, or entitlement. SecuriGene has no obligation to investigate, resolve, or adjudicate disputes among family members, heirs, next of kin, or other interested parties.
No Chain of Custody
Results are provided for personal, informational, or archival purposes only. They are not provided for medical, diagnostic or legal purposes.
SecuriGene does not establish, maintain, certify, or verify any chain of custody for samples submitted and does not guarantee that results will be admissible in court or acceptable to any medical, legal, forensic, or governmental authority.
